Owner's Responsibility

To maintain the appearance, performance, and value of your Suzuki outboard motor, and to ensure warranty requirements are met, it's important to follow the recommended maintenance guidelines. Here's how you can help protect your investment:

1. Regular, scheduled maintenance is the owner's responsibility. Follow Suzuki's maintenance recommendations to ensure optimal performance. Keep records of all routine maintenance services performed. In the event you need to file a warranty claim, Suzuki may require proof of maintenance. Lack of evidence could affect your claim.

2. If your Suzuki outboard is used in severe conditions (e.g. saltwater, extreme temperatures, heavy use) additional cleaning care is recommended to protect both the motor and its value.

a) Use recommended outboard motor washes and polishes.

b) Apply wax to protect the paint and finish.

c) Use multi-purpose lubrication sprays for maintenance.

3. After using your Suzuki outboard in saltwater, it's crucial to flush the motor with fresh water for at least 10 minutes. This helps to prevent salt buildup and corrosion.

a) Use a mild soap wash or detergent with fresh water to clean the motor.

b) Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasives that could damage the surface.

4. By adhering to these simple steps, you will not only ensure that your Suzuki outboard motor remains in excellent condition, but also help preserve its value and performance for years to come.
